Unique RV Gifts For RVing Grandma And Grandpa

Fun RV gifts for grandparents...where do you start? No, these aren't your average grandma and grandpa. So who are these hip grandparents? These days it seems like you expect everyone you see driving along in one of those huge motorhomes or 5th wheels to be on the other side of 30. OK, maybe more like on the other side of 60, but who's counting?

Actually, living full time in an RV of some kind has become much more common in the last few years for a much broader range of folks. In our experience, it is more likely that the bigger and more expensive the rig, whether it be a motorhome, travel trailer, or 5th wheel, the older the inhabitants. Of course that's not always the case, but it's more common now for people who reach retirement age to live a mobile life in a luxury RV, so they are more numerous.

But just recently we were neighbors with an older couple pulling a tiny Casita camper behind a minivan, while on the other side was a man and woman in their 40s driving a big apartment on wheels with a shiny new pickup towed behind it. One thing's for sure, there are many more grandparents on the road now than ever before, and that's a change from the way things used to be.

Anywho - you can see tons of customized, fun ideas at our personalized RV Gift Store, but let's touch on some themes here for those wacky grannies and grandpas who are cruising our highways....

RVING GRANDPARENT T-SHIRTS

When it comes to rv gift giving for grandmas and grandpas, you can never go wrong with a funny tshirt...especially his and hers (campers like to dress alike......even their pets!). Walking around the campground, other rving folks take notice of the funny slogans...and they appreciate and "get" the humor, too!

RVING GRANDPARENTS: HOW IT USED TO BE

In times gone by when it was not common to be so mobile, grandparents lived just around the corner, figuratively speaking. Many fond memories from these times involve going to Grandpa's house for a visit, and it was a mutually rewarding activity. The kids got to see the grandparents in their homes and they got to see the grandchildren on a regular basis. Communities were smaller and everyone knew everyone else, at least in some neighborhoods, and parents could feel that their kids and their parents were safe and secure. But as society changed, families sometimes became farther away from elderly relatives, and grandparents weren't visited as often as they used to be.

THE RVING GRANDPARENT: HOW IT IS NOW

And that's the good side of being a mobile grandparent – you can visit the grandkids anytime you want. Grandparents who are retired and living in their RVs can move freely, as long as the seasons and the weather cooperate. While their visits may not be as frequent as in the past, they usually last longer. Grandma and Grandpa can plop the motorhome down in a nearby RV park and visit in their towed vehicle. Staying in one place for a while is a good way to get to know an area, and spend some quality time with children and grandchildren.

No matter what type of rving grandparent you have, they are all unconventional enough to love a cute, personalized gift...that is guaranteed!
